Just got a '73 cb750. been sitting in a desert barn for 14 years. Just started the cleaning/breakdown. Nice solid bike so far. Odometer has 25k and owner verifies, but seems like 125k looking around the front sprocket. Any advise on:
1. cleaning tank (rust)
2. what is first thing to check on the motor
3. where do I get new forks/rear struts for a reasonable price
4. can this be made intoa dependable ride

Welcome from a recent So. Calif./Vegas transplant.  As far as where to start with the motor: Most would say replace the oil, filter, plugs, check valve clearance and set timing.  But sitting 14 years, I would remove valve cover to make sure the cam and rockers are getting a good supply of oil.  And that can only be done after removing the engine.  Let's see what others say.

so the 1973 frames don't have the frame that comes apart to get to the valves? i myself have a 1977. it comes apart in two sections.
