Just to be clear I'm not afiliated with this company at all.  In fact I rarely praise vendors as I generally expect a very high level of service for my dollar.
But after seeing this link: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=54790.0  in the parts for sale section I ordered everything I would need from Shaun.

Total shipped to Canada was $70.00.

Now I don't know what you guys are used to paying for SS lines but my last project was over $200.00 for the front lines.

I got instant responses to my questions and the items arrived in a week.

For only 70 dollars why wouldn't you upgrade to SS lines, seems like a no-brainer to me.

Thirty or 40 year old rubber, I don't think I'm going to trust my life to that.

Awesome job.

I absolutely agree that choosing to run the original brake hoses on a '70s bike is not a good decision.  I've done several builds on very tight budgets, but new brake hose are at the top of the list of what needs to be replaced if the originals are still on there.

The prices in the link are excellent.   I installed a set of hoses I sourced from another member here, Phillip Troop in Canada, for a bit more($65 shipped, CB550F) and am happy with them.

And rubber replacement hoses to keep that stock look for $40! Great deal and I'll order them when I get to needing them-soon I hope.

It's kind of a pain for some to follow the link and scroll and scroll some more...

Up for your consideration are my made in the USA stainless steel braided brake line kits!

I'm sure many of you have bought my hoses on ebay (i've sold around 300 sets).
For those of you that don't have braided lines on your bike, I want to offer them to you for a lower price then what i sell them on ebay for.

69-76 CB750K standard length - $55 shipped
69-76 CB750K clubman / clip on length - $55 shipped
CB750F models with twin front and rear disc - $110 shipped
71-76 CB500/CB550 standard length - $55 shipped
71-76 CB500/CB550 clubman / clip on length - $55 shipped
72-74 CB350F standard length - $55 shipped
72-74 CB350F clubman / clip on length - $55 shipped

new banjo bolts w/ crush washers - $8 shipped ea ($5 with hose purchase)
double banjo bolts w/ crush washers - $10 shipped ea ($7 with hose purchase)

I can make them for the other bikes too, like the CB400F (i've been told the standard length is 1" shorter then the CB350F) or GL1000's, or CB350 / CB360 twins, GS550's, H1's, etc.  I also offer other colors for the hose and for the little inserts. Blue and Red available.

The hoses are DOT legal and tested in house on a leak tester up to 3000psi to ensure quality.

I also can make custom hoses based on your measurements. These are not refundable of course though.  Got a chopper that you want to run a hose straight from the master to the caliper? give me the length from end to end and what clocking you want the fittings and i'll make you a hose!

If you are interested, please paypal me at pampadori@gmail.com and include the following in your payment message:
  • year
  • make
  • model
  • what handle bars
  • clear/red/blue/smoke hose
  • gray/red/blue rubber inserts

Here are some pics....

I just put a set on my 550 and WHAT a difference!!  The lever will NOT go to the grip no matter how hard you pull it. The brakes don't really stop any better and lack stopping power but this is step#1 in getting them up to the best they can be.

A VERY worthwhile upgrade that takes 15 minutes to do.

I normally ride modern sportbikes and have had the Honda for years in the barn. My daughter and wife are learning to ride this summer and the 550 is the chosen bike for this. It had original hoses and I could pull the lever all the way to the grip. The rubber hoses would expand to the point that it was easy to feel the expansion. With the new SS lines, it's like a rock. Still can't do stoppies but I'm working on the brake power now.
