Wiring for constant loss has me at a loss!! 77 CB750K
« on: July 19, 2009, 05:17:59 PM »
Ok, I'll admit it's been several years since I've done this.  I'm trying to see if my 77 750K (now known as Frankenbike) will run before I get too deep into the project.  After I pulled off the fried wiring harness, I took a quick dash thru the carbs, eyeballed points gap and hooked up a battery "constant loss."  I checked for spark and got nothing...

If I'm thinking correctly, it should be:

- connect the blue at coils to blue from points
- connect the yellow at coils to yellow from points
- 12V+ to the black/white wires at the coil
- 12v- to ground.

Kick and get spark, right?

This is what I tried with zero spark result.  I'm headed back down to try a known good points plate and condensers, if anyone could chime in it would be greatly appreciated!
I'm really awaiting that exultant mad scientist "Bwahahahahaha!!! It's alive!" moment...

Heres a K1 wiring diagram you can eliminate all systems except ignition, just click in the "off" box:

Looks like you have it right, is your battery charged?
