Need help with CB750 K2 exhaust
« on: July 19, 2009, 05:36:16 PM »
Hi Guys,

My CB's right side pipe has small crack and I am wondering what to do with it. If I get brazing done on them..I might end up paying for the chroming for all 4 pipes also.  Which would come close to the price of new OEM exhaust! I have another OEM exhaust from 1978 CB750 (4 into 4) and thinking of using this one on my 72 CB. What do you guys think? Are the exhaust pipes for all SOHC K models were same? Can I use 78 OEM exhaust on 72 CB750?

Thanks a lot guys,
CoolGoose.

Hi coolgoose,

The '78 exhaust bolt holes that go to the frame (near your footpegs) are in a different location.  I can't remember the exact length difference, but it is something like 1/2 inch to one full inch difference from the front of the engine.

You would have to a do massive amount of work.  Better to stay with what you've got.  Or, if you've got the money and really concerned about the looks, do the math and see which is cheaper.... new or re working what you have.
