Do you believe this  ??? . These were received yesterday from American Motorcycle Tire (AMT).  The top date code  is from the rear Continential K112 and the bottom is from the front Continential RB2.  THE FRONT RB2 TIRE WAS MANUFACTURED FIVE (5) YEARS AGO.
There is no excuse now with DOT codes being readable on the sidewalls that old tires are being sold.  These must have been stuck back in a corner and never rotated from stock.  Best deal would have been to buy locally and look at the manufacture date code before installation but I didn't do that  :P.  AMT has since issued me a prepaid return shipping label and was very apoligetic.

Regular (web) price.  No disclaimer about age.  Just bought both replacements from DK with date codes of 4408.  I had them personally pull tires to verify codes.  Now I know better.

ps.  I wouldn't put 5 yo tires on even if I got them for nothing.

Not good at all. I'd do everything to get a refund and make them pay shipping both ways. But when you think about it, it should be trashed so some other poor fool who doesn't know better mounts them up only to head off to the last ride. (But I'd still get my money back.

I working at a return with them (as we speak) .  ^ My thoughts exactly.  At first I thought they should tell me to trash the 5 yo RB2 and not bother returning it but then, thinking about it, if they didn't ask for it back , I (theorically) could sell it to some unsuspecting person as new.  They should take the responsibility to get it back from me and (hopefully) trash it.   It seems AMT just made a faux paux in shipping it out and return details will work out peacefully.  I should know by the end of the day.

I've bought a lot of tires from AMT and have always had a good experience.  Hopefully they take care of this issue quickly and to your satisfaction.

Return shipping label in process

 8) Received a reply today that tomorrow I'll get a prepaid return label.  Upon me dropping the tires off at a Fed Ex, I'll notify them upon which credit can be issued.   A slight snag in getting this resto off the ground.

better to be a snag than a brick wall.
