Piston-to-valve clearance on cb350f?
« on: November 22, 2005, 11:46:57 AM »
Does anybody know the stock piston to valve clearance for a cb350f? I'm having a head milled and thinking about having a cam ground, and want to know how far I can go. Anyone have experience with these sorts of mods on a 350f (I know most folks say just go with a 400f motor, but that's cheating, isn't it?).

Megacycle lists a cam with .245" lift on intake and 240" lift exhaust as working with stock pistons. It doesn't list stock cam lift though that could be easily measured with a dial indicator. Generally .025" is what you can get away with so OEM lift is probab;y aroung .220 In and 215 Ex. Valve to piston is probably around .060" on both sides with the Megacycle cam. Personally I'd check piston to valve at 10 degrees before and after TDC to determine exact amount.
