Topic: 550 with 16 front sprocket auhh oops ordered a 15

i just accidently ordered a 15 front will i regret it or is this gonna be awesome? any body have one?



im thinking of putting a 16 tooth front sproket on my 550k what do u think and where can i get one? my local dealer can only get 17 or 18's the FAQ was all wholesellers or didnt make sense... any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions for ya, just a clarification for myself....

from my screwed up brain calculations, a smaller front sprocket will make your bike take off with less effort.

I have a 16 front on my 550.  It's probably the easiest mod you can do to the 550 to put the power where you want it.  No need to special order it, I got mine from either Z1 or Cycle-re-cycle.

yeah a little lower end torc..... i think of a 18 speed and say oh lol

Try the 15.  I picked up one to try but I haven't put it on yet.  I don't do interstate stuff(75-80 mph for hours) on bikes anymore.  The roads I ride on 99% of the time are 65  mph limit or lower with 45 mph being the most common so I think a 15 may be just fine for me.

65mph will put you at approximately 5900 rpm in 5th.

You may get tired of that.

i got them from cycle recyclers and didnt notice i ordered the wrong ones until i got the confirmation email.. im gonna give em a try i guess but it might pull the torc down a little more than i want... maybe i can practice wheelies(joking i hope)
