cb750f lives
« on: July 23, 2009, 08:18:12 PM »
Last month I brought home a 1978 cb750f with 5000 miles.  According to its last license plate it has not been run since 1987.  I rebuilt the carbs and sprayed some oil in the cylinders and pulled out the choke.  It started within 4 seconds.  It runs great.  There is much more to do, but it was great to hear it run.  There was nobody else around, wife and kids out of town, so I had to tell somebody.  Now the real work begins with paint, tires, brakes and whatever else happens, but at least it runs.  I'll try to post pictures later.

Great find.  I found a 76F1 last in February that had been sitting since 1983.  Count on cleaning out the tank and putting new seals in the calipers and master cylinders.  Those were the two main jobs I had to do as the carbs were very clean.
