wiring help
« on: July 23, 2009, 10:23:51 AM »
I am rewiring my 1976 cb 750k you can see this at the "OPERATION BIRTH KONTROL" thread in the project section.  I am eliminating the clutch switch but ia keeping the nuetral switch for safety reasons.

If I am only using the nuetral switch do i need the DIODE which is wired into but switches ?

I would just ground the solenoid. That lets you use the starter anytime. There's obviously some risk of using the starter motor with the bike in gear when you don't want it to move... but in my opinion that's a stupidity issue, not a motorcycle issue. It's pretty nice to be able to start the engine after stalling in gear, it can be a bugger to get the gears to change with it stopped and you can't use the kickstarter in gear without putting the bike on its centrestand.

I think i am just going to remove the wiring for the clutch switch and the diode and run the wiring from the neutral switch to the solinoid
