Vintage GS 750 Brake kit info needed
« on: August 07, 2009, 05:09:54 AM »
Heres a picture of a vintage big brake kit that I found. It is off a 1981 GS 750 EX and the stock rotors were replaced with a set of 330mm rotors and the calipers were mounted with the brackets shown (for the larger discs).
I can't find any information on it anywhere. The discs are not OEM (OEM discs shown above) and the carriers are very different form the OEM Parts shown.

Does anyone have any info on this kit or simular parts. I would guess that whomever made this kit also made simular kits for other makes amd models.
Any info would be helpful as I cant find anything on this kit.
The bike this came off of also had a CalFab swing arm.

There's a lot of knowledgeable people on the GS resources site that might be able to help if no one here can.

Yeah, I posted it on the GS forum also.
The most help came from caferacer.net (Geeto) and it's probably a Kosman brake kit.
He posted a link to a Yamaha 500 that had a very simular front disc on it and the owner stated it was a Kosman unit.
I did a search on Kosman and all I could find was the newer stuff that they make.

Are you looking for caliper rebuild stuff or just general info on the kit?

I'm looking to identify it.
The calipers are the stock items and work fine. It's the discs and caliper relocation brackets that look to be specific (Kosman?) items.
