New guy with an old bike!
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:39:06 PM »
I just picked up a 71 cb500 last weekend and go figure it needs work I'm sure you guys have never heard that one before.  the plan is to get it running strong enough to ride for the rest of this season than strip it down a start building it right over the winter.

Carbs are coming off tomorrow to get a full work over and than next week i am hoping to have and electric ignition than I have to replace the coils because the last owner did a hack job of splicing a wire.

she is kinda ugly looking right now but with some work it will turn out awesome looking.

I have spent a number of years restoring cars so I am thinking this will be easier I hope

Welcome, the 500 is very popular here
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?
