Weight Loss Program
« on: July 28, 2009, 06:22:19 AM »
On a recent 13 minute road test
my new speedo said that I burned
200 calories and 22.8 grams of fat.
That's a 2 Lite Beer credit !
How about that ?

Just standing near a motorcycle has that effect on a lot of women. ;D

On a bicycle or motorcycle?

This "speedo" is actually made for a
bicycle.
But calories are calories--right ?

What would really be interesting is to track the effects weight loss has on perceived horse power gains(due to faster acceleration from a lighter load) and possibly higher top speeds.
Something like every 10 lbs may equal a 1.5mph top speed gain.
I know my 245 lb ass on my 500/550 sure buggers my fuel mileage. Might have to give it a try.

Added weight has very little to do with top speed, but it does significantly reduce acceleration and handling.

A lighter pilot is also a smaller pilot, therefore less wind resistance and higher top speed :D
