newbie from michigan
« on: July 28, 2009, 07:09:50 PM »
Hello all. I just picked up a 72 cb 750 in pieces. Guy started to bob it. I've always wanted to build a bike so I bought it off craigslist. I am 31 married with 3 kids 5 and under so busy guy. Appreciate all info on here and peoples rides. Still learning a lot of this computer stuff as far as forums, pictures etc.. Enough about me, back to the bike, planning on building a rigid chopper/ bobber, hopefully not to offend, it was already in pieces when I got it . Will hopefully post progress when figure out how to.

I remain unoffended. ;-) Welcome to the forums. I appreciate guys who ride rigid frames. I don't want to ride one myself over long distances, though.

Good luck on getting 'er running.

In response to dave the welder, i am in a small town northwest of grand rapids, called conklin. Sorry it took so long to reply. I am going to try to get engine running before i do the frame work. when i bought it backbone was cut out to remove engine as he wasn't gonna use stock frame. I still think i could use it, weld it back in take small upper tubes from backbone and do sort of a drop seat with it. What did you use for your hardtail? Everything i read says .120 dom seems overkill? A buddy just did a cx500 and i asked him and he said "hell, i dont know could be well pipe for all i know". Looked pretty cool but don't know if i would trust it for long period of time. Also verboten1 where are u in mi?
