What type of oil to use 10w-40 or 20W-50

Hello, I just got my new old bike and like to know what weight of oil to use?  1976 750F supersport.  10w40 or 20w50

Either is ok, depending on temperature and wear in your engine from mileage.  I've got 15W40 in mine, no probems.

I would suggest that you do a search for Oil on the forum and read the hundreds of opinions already expressed and find one that fits you. You have a valid question, it is an explosive topic around here.

same bike...1976 cb750f.........i run 14w40 or 20w-50........depends on how i am going to ride it...normal riding is 15w-40 to work and back.....long cruises in heat get the 20w-50.

I have a 1976 750F ( I just like saying it I think, everyone knows they are the best ) and I use oil in mine too.

I also use oil in mine and I change it twice a season.

Isnt there a short movie about Honda's where they put used vegetable oil in a Honda Cub and drive it all over before driving it off a building and it still started?  ;D

Yep, the program is called the Ten Greatest Ever Motorcycles and is shown on Discovery every now and then. Number one is the Honda Super Cub.
It's in fact the world's most manufactured automotive vehicle. Can't wait to see it's electric follower.

Lol.. Yup that is the one. Personally I just use Penzoil 10W-40. Altho I just saw Hondaman's CB550 tips and he lists some very specific oil so next change I will use what he listed.

Great video.. love that one!

oil is important mmkay?   my bike likes it in the oil tank, and the crankcase.  without it they die mmkay?

I like air popped corn with sea salt and non synthetic butter flavoring.

I like Synthetic my self but everyone always recommends regular oil so I just use mobil one in my blazer.

I like corn popped in really fatty oils. I like to feel my arteries close as I eat the stuff. And lots of morton salt!
