I have never seen an F on the motor,,,I have 2 KO F's, I am almost positive they have the correct motor's in them..Neither of them have an F in the motor number's

The 1975 CB750F was known as F0,engine# 2500004-,76,#2515094-,77,#2600004-,78,3100001-Bill,

There is no F in the engine # on my CB750F2.  it is just cb750E-26*.  There is a model number stamped or cast into the head, I believe it's on the carb side, in the middle on the top fin.  If it is '410', it is an F2 head.

I don't think the cases had FE,just CB750E-and #s,410 was product code F2.78K CB750E-3000001-,78F,CB750E-3100001-.Bill

yes, I know my post is a little more than 90 days late but for what it's worth...

I bought a complete 1978 cb750F3 and later a basket '78F3 motor.  The frame on the bike says 1978 and the engine number is CB750E31XXXXX.  This engine has the 410 heads, 410 pistons, and the big valves (F motor).  and my basket motor also has engine CB750E31XXXXX as well as 410 heads and pistons.  I think the CB750FE31XXXXX S/N confusion came about from talking about an F motor and they are all probably CB750E31XXXXX engine S/N's.  My shop manual says the '78F3 motor has engine S/N CB750E but then has a mistake in the S/N sequence!
