GammaFlat, I bought a new, in the box, K1 seat from them. I called them to be sure it was complete, the lady put the phone down, opened the box, unwrapped the seat and said "ask your questions". It was a complete seat. They are very good to deal with.
We enjoyed the ST1100, it was a 2002, and dressed it up with a Laminar Lip windshield, heated grips, Givi trunk with extra lights and more. However, it had a knock in the engine I could feel in the handle bars when it got up to running temperature. Many ST owners said to get the carbs balanced which I did but it still knocked. This is VERY unusual for the ST1100. The shop mechanics traced to a (possibly) bad rod bearing on number 1 piston. They said they could tear it down and put it back together and it may still do it. It turned out the previous owner complained about it too and they gave him and me "they all do it" run around. I was much more persistant, complaining for over a year and ending up in a very bad shouting match with one of the shop owners. But, after looking at my share of the fix at $1000 or more I traded it in a 2007 Goldwing which I'm more than pleased with because most of my riding is 2 up. The ST was a great bike, quick, handled well, needed a bit of tailoring for my size and looked great. I just couldn't handle the knocking, you could hear it from a long ways away. The new owner doesn't appear to care about it. Am I anal, oh yeah!
You'll enjoy the ST if you go for it. If you're interested, the shop foreman found the knock by letting the bike warm up and while the bike was running removing one spark plug cap at a time and then replacing that one and going to the next one.. No change in engine noise until he got to number 1 and it really got loud. He said it more than likely a bad rod bearing. As I said this is very unusual for this bike to have this kind of problem.
An excellent place to do some research/lurking is here
