Balancing CB650 carbs
« on: April 18, 2005, 11:09:09 AM »
I have balanced the carbs on my 650 for the first time since I bought the bike, today. They were a bit off balance, and there was a noticeable improvement in both performance and the way the engine run. After the balancing the engine runs much smoother, and it performes better.
I have a Morgan Carbtune II for balancing carbs, a gift from my wife btw :), and I'm very pleased with it. It is easy to use, and the result is superb.

Here is a few pictures of the set up I used:

On the first picture the carbs are still out of balance.
On the second picture they are all within 1hg/cm, which is satifying. The user manual for the Carbtune say they should be within 2hg/cm, so I'm satisfyed with this result.

The Morgan Carbtune can be bought directly from Morgan in UK.
It does cost a bit more than the mercury tool you can buy elsewhere, but then you don't have to worry about the mercury. And it comes with 8 adapters. 4 of each thread size. And they ship really fast. It took 4 days from the day I ordered and paid it, till I had it on the door.

Here is their site: http://www.carbtune.com/

And this is the price:

This the special offer:
