Paint touch ups for frame?
« on: July 07, 2009, 07:33:36 AM »
I plan to do some grinding on my frame to accomodate a fiberglass cafe seat.  Basically the seat hinges, and helmet lock will need to go.  Can anyone recommend a good paint product to put on the frame?  Since it's such a small area(s), do I still need to primer before painting?

Prime all bare metal spots. As far as paint, Im not sure what a good match for the factory black would be? I used low gloss or a semi gloss,Rustolium. Not a great match so I ended up doing a lot of taping & blocking with card board to get it to where I was happy with it.

I've found that Rustoleum "Professional" paint is a perfect match.
If you warm it up in a pan of water ir goes on smoooooth.
Pretty heavy duty like a tractor paint too.

When I worked existed at Boeing, someone came up with a computer program called FOG. You told it how many pages of bull#$%* you wanted and it produced it. Sounded just like it came from management.
