Yellow clutch springs?
« on: July 31, 2009, 07:30:17 PM »
A quick search didn't produce any good hits. Anyway, I'm in the middle of inspecting my clutch system, and found out that my current set of plates are sitting at the service limit. So, I dug through a box of goodies that the PO had given me, and come across a set of plates. The springs in this set has yellow painted springs; measuring 31mm free length. I'm curious what this springs are, b/c I was under the impression that the needed length was something like 36.8mm. I'm working on a 76 CB550K.

Any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Those might be higher rate springs, compare the force needed to compress one versus your stockers.
