Woodstock
« on: August 01, 2009, 02:59:47 AM »
i got the 3 dvd set yesterday. this is the first time in almost 20 years since i last saw this movie. i'd forgotten just how much it makes me smile, seeing the performers and the antics of the crowd. it really reminds me of what following the Grateful Dead was like. if you havent seen this movie do yourself a favor and rent it, you wont be sorry

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

Yah, my son works at the local screen so we get in for $1.  Without that we would not be watching many movies on the big screen.

You must be referring to woodstock 1960.
There is a lot to enjoy, including the stuff between the music if you have never seen this before. It certainly captures the wildness of the late 1960s, the good and the bad. It really brings you back to a unique time in American history. For someone who was part of that time, things that were "cool" back then now look and sound a little stupid and naive, but it's still fun to watch. Not only do you get a ton of music, but you see a half million people weathering storms, the mess, drugs, port-o-johns, drugs, dancing, skinny-dipping, drugs, eating. You get the idea.

Agreed...and almost starvation if it was not for assistance of the locals and air support to carry food in there.  This DVD you talk about...is that the doucmentary that was released a long time ago?  With the split screens or is this something new?

I have not seen much for reviews on the new movie that was released last month called "Taking Woodstock".  I don't think it will be a blockbuster.
