Recommendations for clubman type bars for my 77 750k?
« on: August 04, 2009, 02:50:58 PM »
I am thinking about getting some clubman/sportbike type bars for my 77 750k, and was wondering if anyone has any specific recommendations for some that would fit a 77 750k without doing any rewiring or shortening of any cables. Maybe this magical set of handlebars doesn't exist, but if so, I would appreciate some links or something! Basically, I want cafe-type bars that will work well with the stock wiring/cables. I'm not going for any type of cafe conversion, so I don't need 'authentic' cafe bars...
Thanks in advance!

i put clubmans on my 71 750 that had stock bars on it had no problems just some rerouting of lines. i ran the wires on the outside of the bars though ,i don't mind the wires not running threw the bars.got mine from jc whitney ,think they were bikersmasters under 25.00.
good luck

Like Pee Wee said, clubmans can be used without changing the cables, but you do have to get creative with the routing, and you'll need to loop the brake hose a few times to take up the slack.

If you're not dead set on using clubmans, you may want to consider something less severe like Euro or Super Sport bars.  They're much lower rise and less pull-back than stock bars but without the severe drop like clubmans have.

Someone posted pictures of how they routed the wiring after the clubman install. There was also a shop manual schematic of how the stock wiring goes. I can't remember where it was, but later tonight I'll look around for it.

I got clubmans also that, when the time comes, need to be installed. I'll have to get new brake hoses, because the current banjo bolt doesn't seem like it'll work with the master cylinder and, I'd like to upgrade to steel lines anyway. Good luck!

I like the drag bars on my '77 CB 750K. They went on with just a little re-routing of the cables.
