I'm digging that XL250.  Industrial, I like that ruckus tail light, I got my tail light at custom dynamics.  Here is the link in case you didn't already know about it . . . http://www.customdynamics.com/led_flush_mount_kits.htm

yeah man, I've seen that site, cool stuff there.

this one comes with a tag bracket for 33.50
http://www.targa-acc.com/cgi-bin/products.cgi?name=upc_code&value=07-5000B&format=3
or a swivel bracket for the same price
http://www.targa-acc.com/cgi-bin/products.cgi?name=upc_code&value=07-5010B&format=3

i wonder if I'd get pulled over with such tiny lights though....

the targa ones look much better (bigger, brighter, better quality) and it looks like you could sink them into a flush mounted position.

your thought meals have been well placed.
That was an option I considered becausae of the chopped off rails in the back of mine.
I googled the honda ruckus, and liked the integrated grab rail. I would have to think of a way to make it useful (500 pound bike) ...I could say it's structural support I guess.
my one issue right now is the tail light turn signal setup. I want "integrated" and "small"
another ruckus dealie-
I'm going to have to look for it, but I remember seeing diagrams on how to wire dual bulb brake lights to do that.  If you wanted to be quick and easy about it you could treat it like trailer lights and use a trailer light converter.

No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

ok, so.
zzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzz tick-

mock mock mock

it's just sitting on the frame, I'm gonna cut the points up front off the thing and screw the cowl part to the aluminum seat part.

so far I think it goes with the tank alot better than the old one.

I cut the seat pan down some more and bent it to the contours of the cowl as much as possible for now.
also, I cut front points off because it wouldn't fit the frame with them on.
I feel like it's sitting to close to the tire (might hit the tag) but the suspension bottoms out just inside the cowl, so I don't think it'll be an issue until I put a bigger wheel in there.

not sure what to do with that little gap

probably just hammer the pan to fit...

I think I'm gonna have to raise the rear by relocating the shock mount on the swingarm.
when I sit on the bike it drops too low, and looks ...funny?

You could try and raise the dampening, or trade the shocks for longer ones. Relocating the shock mounts will affect how the bike handles.

I mocked up a shock relocation -forward 3 inches- looks terrible.
my shocks are off a cb1100 and are already super long and on the stiffest setting.
I think i need to figure something out....

it's a matter of about an inch and a half, maybe the cowl needs to come up an inch or 2  :-\

ok, so I think i figured it out, I raised the cowl on the seat pan a little over an inch, and when I weld on the seat mounts it'll be about an inch and a half higher.

It's nothing special, just pounding away on the crease of the seat so it doesnt flop around in the wind.   It ended up pretty strong, the pan flexes before the crease does now.
think I'll roll the edge a bit on the pan, to give it some strength.

I think I'll cut a couple of pieces of foam at an angle to make the seat "sit up" more.  it's a little too reclined.

I cut the padding down and spray glued 2 pieces together, then glued my upright to the bottom pad.
still not donr with the foam, I need to do some 1/4 inch soft foam over the top, then for the material.
I was Gonna do canvas, but I want to get a piece of vinyl with the rosette pattern perforation. My old Mercedes had that on the seats, and I really like it.

neat way to construct a seat pan...how are you going to attach the canvas or other material?

haven't figured it out yet ;D
it'll have to be open on the bottom.
I'm using a piece of vinyl for the top, and canvas for the sides.
...so far...
I may change materials as time goes on.

my dog ate the padding.... she almost died.
not from the foam eating, from the barrage of pummeling blows delivered in a blind rage.
kidding, but really- dog ate the padding, so now I gotta make a new one. *sigh*
maybe it'll be even better this time. everything happens for a reason.

revised

thinner base and a lower profile back.
I think I'm gonna attach the seat material to the corners of the cowl at the bottom, and a 8 inch deep pocket in the front to slide the plate and foam into.
