I picked up some velcro to mount the pad to the aluminum. $2.50 for a yard

so the seat needs to be redone. the pad that was made fits the seat fine, but when its on the bike... not so much.

Damn it.

I have to load up the bike and take it down there for him to make it match the tank and frame.
That's why it's called 'attempt 1.0' i guess $:-\$

Does the seat pan change shape when it's mounted, or is there some other issue?

the gas tank has a mounting flange with bolts in it that sticks up and makes the pad stand up.
also, the whole thing was too long by 2 inches. it fit on the seat pan, and pulled down nicely, but without the whole bike at his disposal he didn't know the tab was there.

So I'll bring the bike down there in the truck and spend the night at my dads while we figure out what will fit and look the best.

I can't ride on a black seat and feel at ease... it's one of my ticks, the same way I can't wear anything but white socks or drive with something hanging from my mirror...

if it helps, I'm dying a set of white grips to match it.

I was just about to say... get some grips the same color and it will tie in nicely...

Maybe even find some covers for the plug wires in a similar color...

I'm right there with you on the tan seat looking really nice.

Let me know what you find on the plug-wires - I'm looking for blue ones, myself. (Saw some online awhile ago, and damned if I can find them again...)
