Are there any women on these forums?
« on: November 23, 2005, 10:52:56 AM »
Just wondering.. I am part of a late model mustang forum and there seems to be a ton of women on there who are enthusiast too. Was wondering if there were any women here who own, ride, and work on their own bikes..

Pictures would be nice, but not necessary..  :D

The bike I have now was given to me by my girlfriend at the time... the previous owner got it from some guy with the plans on restoring it.. and it never happened so he just left it at the house when he moved out. My girlfriend said I could have it as she had no clue what to do with it.. I envisioned fixing it and then riding around with her on the back... Eventually getting a hondamatic for her (she drive a manual) and then riding off into the sunset together.. in a sort of Honda dream sequence...

Too bad things didn't work out between us.. We called it quits after 7 years but still remain friends.. most importantly.. She still let me have the bike..  ;D

Unfortunately, I think genes that make us hanker for the smell of gasoline, old motorcycle parts and the rumble of the engine are also the same genes that encode for hairy knuckles, a deep voice and the appreciation of good whiskey.

Well put. Even my wife likes the smell of gasoline (though not in the house). Lucky me. ;)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

For scotch nothing beats Laphroaig, I like the taste of sucking on my leathers.  That is, it has a leathery quality I like. :-\

Yeah, there are women here, but I don't think that they're here looking for dates. If I'm wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time and definitely wouldn't be the last.

Buffo, if you can find some Laphroaig in that desolate part of our great state, TRY SOME!  It is a single malt, not like Johnny, you will either love it, or (sadly) hate it.  However, you will never know untill you try it.

He's right Don. Try some! I'm not necessarily a scotch drinker but Laphroaig is a great scotch. If you try it and end up hating it I'd suggest trying it again. It has it's moments!

these guys are serious! and so is their malt..

http://www.laphroaig.com/

get a bottle - the 10 year is the standard taste - unless you've got more dollars to spend on your whiskey - which i never have had...

you will never tast a scotch like this one! i'll bet the all the gold there is.

I don't expect to be in Texas anytime in the forseeable future, however if you do move back to the Albany area that's a possibility, being only a few hours driving ....................

Since we're discussing hard liquor now, anyone heard of Grappa?  I think thats how you spell it.  One of the members here has that for a handle.  Anyway you take a good red wine, or better yet make it, then distill it over and over until it becomes a clear liquid that rivals the meanest Shine youve ever had.  I went to a rally/swap meet in Davenport Iowa this summer and there was this old bearded biker walking around with a big bottle of it yelling,"Victims!  We need victims!"  Needless to say my friends and I became victims, along with several other passers by.  Takes the hair right off your balls.  That should attract the ladies.  Mabey we should start a Shoe or Hair coloring techinque thread.  Anyone know any predominantly female forums?  It would be interesting to see what the hell they talk about all day....probalby not all the important stuff we discuss! :-X :D
