I am starting to rebuild my front brake on my 78 CB550K. I took the front wheel off to ease the removal of the caliper, and to get an idea of what needs to be taken care of (speedo cable broken and stripped screw, and a few other things). While I am waiting for my new phenolic brake piston to arrive, I thought I would re-mount the front wheel. After doing so, I noticed that there is a lot of empty space on the right outside of the mount. The left side is mounted nice and flush, but the right just doesn't look right. I searched other threads, and noted that the fender is also a brace... mounted that as well, but doesn't seem to make a difference.
I did some quickie measurements... whether these are correct, I am not sure.
- bottom of forks, from centres of mount bolts, 7.5 inches
- top of forks (middle of top fork bolts), 7.25 inches
There is 8 mm of space between the axle and the outside of the right mount. It is 40 mm from the hub to the edge of the right mount. As for fork or frame damage, I can't see anything glaring. I read about an axle spacer, but I do not have that either. A lot of stuff is missing on this bike.... Does these look correct? I should have taken pictures before the disassembly.

I have some pictures here to help ease my description.
I would appreciate any input. Thanks!
