I'm getting ready to do something stupid...
« on: August 07, 2009, 09:50:07 AM »
I find myself in need of a car for those days when the bike is somewhat less than practical. Yes I'm aware that this is only very slightly more practical than a bike. :D

I'm heading over this weekend to look at a Alfa Romeo 1986 Spider with 87k on it.

Anyone want to weigh in with a preemptive I told you so?  How about a go for it?
If there's a member with actual experience with one of these things, I'm all ears.

I would not stop you. How could I, I want a 240,260, or 280Z! Bad enough that I might contemplate an equal trade of my bike! Maybe. ;D

The question is do you have money to burn?
If so, by all means indulge your stupid side; If not, buy something more reasonable and reliable.

Don't get me started on Chrysler.  Damn intrepid i have musta been off the same line as the K car.  Over 1k to change the water pump.  And I have anti freeze coming through the speaker in the drivers door.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

One thing from my experience, once you get in it you will think, god, lets race, the driving position will be great at one time I thought that the Italians were incapable of making a car that didn't feel like it was ready for the track from 600 Multipla to Maserati.
