78 cb 750F project at a standstill
« on: August 04, 2009, 08:24:28 PM »
upon further inspection of my new project ,during the tear down I now realize that my bike has been in a wreck , frame has been braze welded back together very poorly and not straight, didnt notice til i had it all tore down. Guess ill need a new frame , im pretty sure the 77 or 78f frames will match perfectly. can anyone verify this for me ? or if anyone can help me find a frame it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Yeah the 77-78 SS frames are identical - but different from EVERY other cb model I believe.  That makes these frames pretty hard to come by.  Now that I think about it, it seems like alot of parts of these 77-78 Fs are either harder to find, or more expensive, and often both.  But, it's a small sacrifice for probably the coolest looking cb made.   8)

+1 on the 77-78 coolness factor. They also lean better, corner and stop faster. Toss a 76k motor in her and you kill many of the parts issues, at least for the motor. Love my F  <3
