Beer math, and Challenge
« on: August 04, 2009, 05:01:22 PM »
During a recent "discussion" with my wife, my alcohol consumption came up. So I decided to do the math.

I spend, and this is a conservitive calculation, $255.17 per month on beer! :o :o

So for the month of August I have deceided just to have a sixer on Saturday.

If free beer is offered, thats a different story. ;D

It's only the 4th day and I did not think it would be this hard. :-[

Long days ahead.

That's a tough goal.  I know I'd have trouble sticking to that.  Good luck! :)

Keep some cheap sodas in the fridge.  It helps.  Sort of like chewing gum when you're cutting back on smoking.

I quit drinking about a week and a half ago. Saving 75 bucks a week at home, no idea what I'm saving from going out. More.
You can get a lot of motorcycle crap for 300-600 bucks a month.
No.

holy crap...have you ever heard of AA ???   That is $8.50 per day  every day...that's not drinking....that's  MASS CONSUMPTION aka the coneheads snl.....yea...ya might want to come to the realization of what it is costing you both in $ and in your health and probably your relationship.  I would have to say that right now you have an addiction, just like smoking..If you cease and it bothers you and you think about it a lot...it's an addiction.  been there and done that...smoking was mine and 19 years ago I realized it and set about doing something about it....quit cold turkey and now I don't miss it a bit...realized that anything that rules your life is not good for you and that you need to rule your life...not something think you need or want....which includes bikes by the way....

I think that if he was an alcoholic, he wouldn't have posted anything about him cutting back to save money.  :D just a thought.
Are you hiding vodka in decorative bottle around the house?
No? Well, i suppose you haven't made it there yet.
Here's what I can say about the cutting back thing.
For the last 2 months i was spending nearly all my paychecks from week to week, with really no explanation to where it went.
The last 2 weeks, the BF has been sick, and in an effort to make it easier on him (with taking antibiotics and all) cut back my drinking as well. What do you know, I made it 2 weeks without a payday with extra money to spare! like a hundred more bucks than normal. it's been nice, not having to check my bank account to make sure i have enough dough to put gas in my car.  :D
And who the hell named us; click-click-click-click-click-click

Hey Burke!

How's it coming along?

Not to bad. Had a couple last night, a buddy brought some by after work (no finiancial output needed ;)).
It's been just about one week and I can tell that money wise, this is going to be a good thing.

It isn't hard to spend a lot going to bars... usually I can't get out of a bar for under $40 with food, tax and tips.. Probably half of it is beer.

I stopped drinking for 4 months last year to save enough so I could buy the 550.  ;D

Seemed a bit tough at first but the 550 in the shed makes up for it every day.
