And the endeavor begins... putt putt...
« on: August 05, 2009, 09:21:29 AM »
Maybe about 3 months ago! The name is Joe! I was referred here by an acquaintance I met through skateboarding, and it just so happened he had a knack for these older bikes. He's provided me with some useful tips in finding information for my bike, like this site for instance - which has motivated me to keep at it. A little motivation goes a long way. Truly I am as newbie as you can get and all of my experience has come from a CM400 that was purchased from the inspiration created by an old puch moped i tried to modify, but just couldnt get the push and pull i wanted out of the machine. My CM400 tore itself apart on the freeway due to an oil leak, and my poor maintenance skills. Id like to blame it on the weather an the air cooled engine(valley of the sun, phoenix, az), but unfortunately I just wasnt good to the bike. I dont wanna give up... So I persisted, and I found a 78 cb550, such a rad bike that ive come to respect. The bike runs, but im hoping to get this bike in a good solid working condition, then hopefully modify it into a powerful cafe macheeen. Its those clubman handlebars that got me rubbernecking, and those are just the beginning... i dont think ill be doing the bike justice if i dont take it all the way and make it a true sohc4 cafe racer. Any and all help is appreciated, thank you all in advance!

Nice to meet you all!

Thanks,
Joe
