does anyone here know anything at all about these bikes? i have a chance to get one for 75 bucks. it runs but there is no title. here in SC it's cheap enough to get one though.

Well, they were 'interesting' motorcycles.  

The good:  liquid-cooled, 550cc V-twin, shaft drive, 75 bucks!!!   :o ;D

The bad:  suspension was "cheap" (but can be upgraded with new shock, new fork springs & fork oil).  Maintenance was a PITB - lots of stuff had to come off just to check the plugs.  

The wierd:  they tanked (along with LOTS of the motorcycling models, along with the US economy of the early/mid 80s) after only 2 years.  The styling is definitely '80s modern - you like it or you don't.

The last year (83), they made a 'sport-touring' fairing on it.  Not bad, but again, '80s modern.

I'd own one, even at a 'normal' price.  75 bucks?! I'd go for it...

saw a titled runner go for $2000 at auction 2 years ago! That was in Burrlington IA...

I would agree. $75, it runs, and you can get a title for it? Yea, if you have the money its worth getting IMO.. Nice find.
