This is my second bike project. My first one was a 1980 Honda CMT400. It was fun while it lasted, but the mistakes I made on it were corrected on my second bike. A 1972 CB750 K2 that I bought on eBay and all of the parts for it.
Bike: $1150 (STEAL!)
Shipping to Florida from Indianna: $650
Seat (see below for details): $450
LED Tail Lights: $85
New Headlight: $80
Front LED Turn Signals: $70
Mirrors: $35
New Grips: $20
New Drag Bars: $40
Tank and Side cover Paint: $200
Total: $2780
All in all, I'm very happy with her. I found out a bike looking as good as she does and with low mikes regularly sells for $3000+. I splurged on the seat, but it's worth EVERY penny. Ted McCarty at
www.classiccyclecity.com (or ted@classiccyclecity.com) did an excellent job! Nothing to modify, just take the old seat off at the pins and put his seat on. While ordering the seat, I chose silver lettering to match the bike (he can customize it to any colour). The seat made it easy for the bike to look great. Anyway just a few more modifications (new venom tires, kickstand etc) and I'm done....
Why would anyone spend $8000-$10000 on a POS Sportster is beyond my comprehension, when they can buy a great bike and with minimal work and modifications and make a bike that's truly theirs.....
first pic is of the bike when i bought it (the luggage rack, Vetter Vindicator fairing and dual seat is for sale if anyone is interested)
