Hello everyone from Kansas City

I'm From Kansas City and recently bought a 1978 CB 750 SS.  I've been a huge fan of Cafe style bikes since I was young and finally started the process of building my own.  Probably going to ride it this summer and make haste with the changes come late fall and winter. ;D

I would also like to thank everyone that has posted on the forum...  Without all of you I'd be in much worse shape!

Welcome to the forums. I've done pretty much a stock restoration on mine, but did it the same way in that I got it running first so I could ride it and work on it along the way. Any chance for some pictures? We like pictures. ;-)

Thanks gents!  Just got it home recently and am planning on going through the carbs, changing to electronic ignition and adjusting the valves and cam chain then seeing what needs to be done.  Other than valve guides and compression check anything else I need to look for?

I could give yo ua laundry list, but I just checked the fluids, changed the plugs and fired her up.
That's what I'd do to see where she stands. or maybe even just change the oil first.
Plugs
Ignition
timing
carb clean/sync
brake system inspection
fork oil
Valve clearance
cam chain adjust
drive chain clean lube and adjust
inspect those tires they're the most important thing in my eyes.

Thanks guys!  Got her out and ran her for awhile then she let me down...  Or I guess I had a character building moment...  Petcock lost it ability to seal and all the gas ran out.... Ugh had to push her 2 miles home...  this thing is a pig!  Covered in sweat but still grinning. ;D
Bad rides make for the best stories I guess.
