« on: November 25, 2005, 05:54:42 AM »
Can anyone tell me if the fastners on the engine case on my 550 would originally have been screws ar allans? There are allans on at present but I was just wondering if it would have been screws originally.

Phillips head screws for stuff like the clutch cover and and sprocket cover, bolts/nuts for the rest.  There was a guy on e-bay selling polished stainless steel allen head bolt kits for these bikes a while back.  Still at it?  I dont know.

I'm having more and more respect fro the guy who had the bike previously for the way he made it look. Little touches like the Allen heads make all the difference I think. I never really noticed them that much till I had a cover off and cleaned the fastners before putting them back . It was then I discovered they were shiney.  8)
