350f throttle cables
« on: August 05, 2009, 09:48:54 AM »
Anyone know what to use for a replacement? The Honda dealer said discontinued. Motion pro doesnt list them. Jc Whitney sells them for the twin but not the 350f. Will a 500/550 fit?  I need the pull cable but want to replace both since theyre so old. Thanks for a lead.

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good news for a few of us!  My Honda shop that gets ragged out by so many has a great staff. They searched all Honda dealerships for those parts in stock. It took them @.......7 seconds! I didnt see anything on z-1. DSS is in the UK. Not feasible for me. So i found 4 dealers in the us that have both cables. Western Hills had 2 pair. Now one. Thats the first time ive called there for a discontinued item that Terry actually had. So if you need these items and are willing to part with a little over $80. Here are the numbers for dealers listing them as current inventory.
Libbys motoworld  CT 203-772-1112
Freedom cycles MO 816-761-2220
Advantage powersports MO 816-421-1515

I'm guessing you've never ordered anything from them.  Shipping cost and time are as good as or better than most domestic parts suppliers I've dealt with.

Yeah, I saw that they unfortunately don't have the cables either, but definitely keep them near the top of your list for parts.  A scroll through what they have to offer can be painful if you don't have the cash for everything you want.

+1 for that. I've been very happy with the shipping costs, shipping time and basic all around price of everything I've ordered from them. They were the only place that had replacement pistons and O rings for my front brake.
