1964 suzuki T10-Should I buy it?
« on: August 07, 2009, 04:10:44 PM »
When I had my X6 in the 85th AMA parade at Vintage Days 2 weeks ago, I ran into a casual friend that said he had a 1964 Suzuki T10 that hasn't been ridden in 2 yrs and wanted to know if I was interested in buying it.  I didn't have much interest, always though T10s we kind of clunky. Last night I was out for a ride, went past his house, and curiousity got the best of me. He pulled the blankets off of it and my jaw dropped! Perfect chrome, excellent original blue paint, and not a scratch. 9700 miles. Tool kit, owners manual, and original sales invoice. Said his father bought it in 1968 and he bought it from him in 1972 when he  bought a new Water Buffalo. Put a battery in it , hit the starter button, and it started on the second turn. Rode it up the road and back and it runs as good as it looks. He is into street rods and never rides it. Now I am interested. Said he doesn't know what it is worth and trusts me to come up with a fair price. No guides, nothing on ebay. I am thinking $1000.  Would be a neat addition to the X6. Any input?????????????

I think $1000 might be a little steep unless its a near perfect example. Cool bike and good luck, its always exciting to add one to the collection.

I'm up in the air as to what a good value would be.  I think $750 would be an decent price for my bike, but I am pulling that number out of the air.

The cool thing about the bike is that it's rare, and it's a nice notch in the belt.  "I have a 66 Suzuki!"   ;D 8) ;D  The bummer is that it's rare, and references/parts are hard to come by. "No one has an effing front fender?!!"  >:(  Got to take the bad with the good I suppose.

If you get the bike and find any good scores for info, parts, forums, etc... please let me know.
