Engine tilt

I see a few people who lower their bikes. I have a '74 cb750 and i am considering cutting the shocks and welding struts but i want to know the cons to tilting the engine. will it hurt it or does it make that big of a difference

You mean by the engine leaning forward with a lower front end? It shouldn't affect engine performance at all, at least I don't think so. I'd consider changing your suspension geometry pretty seriously though, you may end up making the bike handle worse.

if u dropped the back end wouldnt that bring it furthur upright.... if ur thinking of chopping the front shocks i would just lower the triple trees and slid em down a little to test the handling before doing it ... cyclex sells different length shocks fairly reasonably priced
