I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Glad ya had a good time Terry !  Good thing ya didn't meet up with the big red !  ;D
Just being curious, how many motorcycles do ya own?  And what types ?  Ya gona sell any parts ?
If so, make a list and post it in all areas so everyone will know !   ;D    Any A.R.D.'S Complete for sale ?

PS. If where you live is anything like that movie "WELCOME TO WOOP WOOP"  I'm coming too see ya !!  :o  ;D
CHEERS !!   JON G.

Ha ha, well I can't remember if I've seen that movie, but "Woop Woop" refers to just about any place in Australia far from a capital city, so there's plenty of "Woop Woop" to see mate, it's a big country with not a lot of people, just miles and miles of, er, miles and miles.............

My collection of bikes now includes:

2007 Triumph rocket 3
1992 BMW K1100LT
1981 Suzuki GS1000S
1980 Suzuki GS1000E (Yoshimura equipped)
1977 Honda CB750F2
1973 Honda CB750K3
1971 Honda CB750K1 (with 836cc race engine fitted)
1971 Honda CB750K1 "24 Hour Endurance Racer" project bike
1970 Honda CB750K0.

At this stage I'll probably sell the K0 and F2 first, finish the K3 resto and sell it too, put the 836cc hotrod engine from the K1 into the racer, take the K1 back to stock and sell it too, sell one of the GS1000's and just keep the 836 racer, the Triumph and the BMW.

I've got heaps of trick Honda CB750 parts, big bore kits, hot cams, 29mm Mikuni carbs, 3 ARD magnetos, (MK2 and MK3 models) a Dunstall body Kit, genuine Egli race fairing, you name it, I've probably got it. I'll make a list on the weekend when I go thru all my boxes. Have a good one, Cheers, Terry. ;D

(snip)
but what really frightened me (for just a moment mind, everyone knows that I'm so tough that when the Boogeyman goes to bed he checks in his closet and under his bed for me....) was when I was almost home, I stopped for gas at a big gas station close to the freeway on-ramp, and anyway, I was re-entering the freeway (66 Mph) and was accellerating up to the speed limit, but to get in front of a couple of cars I "gave it the berries" at around 60-odd Mph in third gear, and the rear wheel spun! Sheee-it!

The bike started to "snake" across the freeway at close to 80 (I'm only guessing, I think there was something in my eyes.........) so I backed it off then gradually accellerated again, and everything was fine, but I've got to say, my sphincter was a-puckering!

As you no doubt know, you have to watch that thing, especially when the tires are cold.  Liter-class sportbikes are the same way.  They'll bust loose at interesting times when on the gas.  Kind of like a CR500 for the pavement.

A good story and nice (little) pix.  If we ever get down there to visit the wife's relatives, my wish is to get a bike to travel on to see the sights.

Terry, i'd definitly would be interested in the MK3 A.R.D. magneto. Is it complete ?  Thanks, Jon g.

P.S. You have to watch that movie "WELCOME TO WOOP WOOP"  One of the most craziest and funniest movies
I have ever seen !!   ;D  Very hard to get over here, only on VHS.

Congrats on getting home safe Terry, though are you sure your clothes were wet from the rain  :D

Not to turn this into a parts thread, but do you have any complete carbs from the early 70's 750's ? I'm looking for the mechanical ones that look like they have old bottle tops for tops. I don't care if they need a rebuild. Anywho, let me know.

Thanks,

Brandon

Yeah, but will I have to install them upside down to get them to work here in the right side up?  ;D

Thanks Guys, I intend to have many more "adventures" on the Rocket, but it's a tad boring on my own, so I was happy today to be invited on a ride in a couple of weeks time with the "Allies" motorcycle club, made up mainly of serving and ex-miltary members, cops, paramedics and firemen. It should be a great day, and it'll be fun chasing down the other bikes!

I'll take some pics of the parts that I'll be unloading, and I'll consider "reasonable" offers for some of the higher end parts, I paid a lot of dough for some of this stuff, so I hope to recover most of it. I just saw a blower kit for a rocket for "only" $5500.00 US, and that will increase it's "grunt" to 250 BHP at the back wheel, with no loss of torque or "driveability", woohoo! ;D

Ha ha, it must be a common sickness Mordy, I just joined the Rocket 3 forums and have been checking out other member's rides, there are a few guys with blowers like that one or turbo's, what's that quote? "Absolute power corrupts, absolutely". Ha ha, Cheers, Terry. ;D
