Oh baby! Pay no attention to my Woodrow Wilson.

What rods did you decide on Bill? I'm leaning heavily towards the Carrillo billet super sweets.

Bill,

FYI - check pricing on Carrillos. It's gotten cheaper and more competitive.

All of us are at different stages. I have 2 MRieck heads, 1 with 34mm intakes and the other with 33.5mm intakes. 1 set of 900 cylinders just done and the 1000 kit and cylinders still needing to be done. 1 APE crank with Carrillos. 1 set of Crower rods that need a crank done.  I have most of the big expenses done except for 2 sets of CR31's. What the hell, it's only a thousand bucks here a thousand bucks there  ;)

Sure sounds exciting!!
What do you guys think about the early(around 86') gixxer carbs??Always heard they were great carbs and a cheap alternative. I know they were 34mm or something and worked well on 750 to 1000cc dohc motors.   I would guess it would take a 1000cc to keep them happy. If POP's was selling them with his race kits, surely it's do-able!

Also need carbs 31mm Keihins?

I have read that the "31's" are more top end orientated for racing so i will be using 29's.

I wonder how hard those gixxer carbs would be to make fit?

I got a PM from a guy that is helping me with my auto street ET bracket bike.
He has aquired a set of 34mm CVs which he has moded and rejetted to suite the auto.
He is suplying the rubbers (new) off ebay but I don't know what they are off but he has used them several times. I'll let you know when I find out.
Like Mike says, the late model K and F rubbers suite the big CR carbs, they are what I fitted on the CR I built.

Woohoo, my 970 kit just arrived, so i'll have a 1000cc K2 and a 970cc F1..... ;D  You see thats what happens when you are restoring ONE bike, you end up building at least 2 maybe 3 bikes.......All i need is another engine and i'll have enough bits for three.....Shame isn't it.... ;)
