HELP switching to 530 drive chain and sprockets on my 750k7
« on: August 10, 2009, 06:08:24 AM »
I have to order tonight, and need to be sure that thees products work on my k7.

Will this chain:   http://www.bitzforbikes.co.uk/DID_530_VM2-110_X-Ring_Gold_Chain.-ref-1582-8765-2386-23.html

work with the following Sprockets:
 http://www.bitzforbikes.co.uk/Rear_Sprocket_%28high_carbon_steel_to_OEM_standard%29-ref-1922-1094-118-23.html
and:
http://www.bitzforbikes.co.uk/Front_Sprocket_%28high_carbon_steel_to_OEM_standard%29-ref-1921-1094-118-23.html- If I remove the excess links?

Stock K1-k6 is ratio 18/48 right?

I weigh 69 kg (150lbs) and im quite surprised at how fast the bike goes into high rpm with the standard 14/41 ratio. I am leaning most towards 18/48 ratio (as many others), but would like to hear if any of you guys have experience with the 18/46 (2,56) in terms of acceleration and driving at 55-70mph.

I live in Denmark witch = no mountains at all ;)

Thanks - Jakob

Hi Jakob, they look like they will be ok for your bike and the price seems ok have you tried Dave Silver spares? & CMSNL? sometimes they have cheaper parts in the pattern department rather than genuine Honda, ;) cheers Mick.

ok.

So all chains called something with 530 will fit the sprockets categorized as 530 - The remaining numbers and letters (DID 530 VM2) in the name therefore has nothing to do with dimensions??

Thats right on my cb750f1 i use a heavy duty chain 530h 102 links, the DID etc are just the manufacturers initials, cheers Mick.
