Tell us more about that header and muffler, looks like they came to you in fairly good condition.

That first ride to work, someone pulled up next to her and snapped a camera-phone pic while at a traffic light. ;)

mystic_1 - the header/can was already on the bike when I bought it.

Cool! First of many!

As to the header, long looks make me lean towards a Kerker header with something else wedged on for a muffler, like a Jardine or something. Looks good though.

The PO stated he found the can sitting on a shelf in his garage and stuck it on. It's low. I scraped it making it right hand turn at an intersection. It has a very nice sound to it ... like a late model sportbike. Wish I could find some thing like it that would 'bolt on' to the MAC header I have on the 76' ...

The handlebars came from a local M/C shop. They give me good pricing on parts so I try to give them my business. The bars are Flanders Low Cafe ... thinking they were PN C25 or D25. Cant remember exact, but they come in black powder coat or chrome.

Fast from the Past were a breeze to deal with and I will be buying from them in the future. No worries. The parts I ordered from them are definitely quality made. Pricey, but the saying, 'you get what you pay for' applies here.

We rode about 150 miles yesterday and Deb was all grins. Today is another nice day - so I'm gonna try and get some video of the bike.

It's a very nice set up. "Sporty" but not extreme. I would probably not recommend it if you're over 6ft. - but anyone over the height understands the issues of having long legs and rear sets. Deb loves it (she's 5'8") and says it's the most comfortable bike in the garage. Of course, she could be suffering from 'new-toy-idus'.

Took this shot while we were out for a quick ride today.

Looking VERY good! The photo with your wife on the road is excellent and does a good job of showing rider position on the bike - very impressive. And the orange tank looks like new...good job!

cheers

Love the bike. Working on my own cafe 500. My wife loves riding with me as well. I love the look of the orange.

What master cylinder did you use? I have a twin disc setup and I am having some issues with the feel of the master cylinder that I have.

(also got an all original SVO 44k and loving it)

The master cylinder is a Nissin - 5/8" bore. Works great. Hard with medium amount of travel.

I literally had 5 places to be that weekend. I ended up traveling about 450 miles to and from family gatherings that weekend alone. I would have rather been there. Thanks on the master cylinder selection. I need something for my CB500. I grab the brake and it is soft for the first bit of travel and then SLAM!!!! full braking and lock up of front wheel. It only works well if I am going over 70mph. Anything under 45 is just annoying.

if you don't mind me asking. how much do you pay for the cafe seat?
