Help!!! Drive sprocket seems loose

The drive sprocket on my '75 CB750 seems really loose. Is this normal? Can anyone tell me how it should be? The sprocket seems to float/move an 1/8th or so, left and right. Not forward & back, it fit the shaft well. If anyone needs more info... i.e pics, I  will be happy to get them to you.

Yep, it floats along the output shaft there. Long as it doesnt rotate backwards or forwards, yer fine.
