Do dreams have any deeper meaning?
« on: August 13, 2009, 12:03:46 AM »
I had a dream the other night that I owned a Vespa.  From what I remember of the dream I was really enjoying it. :D

I'm really really hoping gus is a cat and not a midget! ;D
The quite common dream of owning a Vespa can be explained by the wish to bonk Italian women, this of course will lead to you being bashed by Italian men so is to be avoided at all cost.
When you feel the urge to dream of Vespa's approaching, quickly switch to another bike, one of the Russian under powered over weight behemoths from the 60's should sober you up considerably.
An industrial looking BMW can distract also from the dreaded Vesper dream, if all else fails imagine a California Highway Patrol Kawasaki 1000 with Officer Poncherello chasing you. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Ooooo I'm tellin.  :D

I personally think dreams are our subconscience trying to tell us what we are going to do in the near future, but it's more like a Stephen Lynch film, it has no plot or point but there are extremely subtle hints that you almost need to be a detective to figure out. Seeing as how our subconscience controlls us without us knowing it and all. That's just my opinion.

So based on the facts of your dream I would say you are going to give up all your worldly possessions for a royal enfield and marry an Egyptian man. See? Subtle hints.  ;D

Parts of your dreams are recaps of the prior week, month and year type thing.  Read a book on it once, quite interesting actually.

The book said to have a pen and paper on the nightstand and write down your dream as soon as you wake because you will start to forget it shortly after.  They also recommended to do this during the night with your alarm clock waking you up. Ain't happening with me.

Supposedly the story that you write will be surprising 'cause you think a bit different when sleeping..

Personally, when I see a hot chiq, I just have to say c'mere and I am in.   ;D ;D ;D  It took some practice for that control, lol.

do you have dental insurance? :D

I often have vivid post-apocalyptic dreams... like Mad Max.  Huge, grand epic ones with ongoing stories.  I used to have a nightmare about once or twice a year when I was a kid that would send me into a sort of terror... but I haven't had it for maybe ten years now. Kinda weird.

Used to dream about missing a test in school or not turning in a major assignment.

I keep dreaming that I have sluffed a certain class (changes with each dream) for like months and I'm failing it. I also used to dream that after my senior year I decided to stay in high school another year cause I had nothing else to do and I kept worrying they'd find out. I think my subconcious is trying to drive me insane, fortunately for me I learned not to take it seriously long long ago.

Yeah, and pretty good teeth too, just a bizarre reoccuring theme in my dreams.

I don't want to write it down, they might try and use it to prove I'm mentally insane  8)

I wrote down a couple, one where I witnessed the ethnic cleansing of an entire race on an alien planet, and one where a spirit guide handed me an empty piece of paper and told me to call her when I needed her.

This past summer While my brat was here we found a HUGE black widow in the field across the street so I dreamed of them all nite.  Told him the next morn he thought it was funny.  We went to the race track and one of the trailers had what on it?  The whole side was a widow.  Took a pick of me by it.

I hope dreams don't have a deeper meaning and if they do, I don't have a clue what it is.

One re-occuring dream that I have had for at least 20 yrs is I'm having my butt kicked by Carol Burnnett (WTH???). They are all different scenerios, but they have the same end result. I mean Carol Burnett is just a plain bad a$$ Kung Fu master in my dreams and she could probably give Bruce Lee a good run for his money and send him home crying like a little girl. When she throws punches, they all make the typical 1970's "Kung Fu" swoosh movie sounds and they all hit their target.

Not sure I really want to know the deeper meaning of that dream, though.

i'm sitting here, laughing uncontrolably at that mental picture.
