Another x2 new bike...
« on: August 13, 2009, 10:13:57 AM »
Picked this up the other day.

It's a blast.

4,760 miles only. It runs. Scored it for 3k.

Welcoime to the monster club, I'm not seeing an oil cooler and it looks like a wet clutch instead of dry, so is that a 620 or???

I've got an M900 and love it. 8 years now.

Most important thing is to find out last time belts were changed and if more than say 2 years ago, better change them. Very easy job.

Yes it's a 620. All the maint is up to date, before the lady sold it she had a "tune up" done on it so it's all good to go.

I like the naked bikes Havoc, I said it before and I will continue to say it, I love em. I still like the street triple but this will do for a while.  ;D

If it makes you feel any better...

After my disagreement with aptech I went out and test rode a Speed Triple.

I give it lots of credit, it's a mean bike. Handles great, and has loads of aggressiveness in all RPM ranges.

But....

I chose to drag race a Ducati for a reason. With the right parts and skills developed, nothing can compare.

That and I think they look better.  :D Oh and there's dare I say it..... soul.

C'mon Havoc, My '01 Triple has plenty of power up high and down low and looks the part too.  The dual headlamps are the signature part of the bike. (looks like a big bug coming at you) True, you either love it or hate it, and I love mine. With all of the plumbing everywhere it looks like it was just thrown together. And the triple motor at song is music to my ears.

It was said in jest. Please don't take any offense. I own an original triple.

80 Yamaha XS850G

I actually like the Triumph. I own a car of theirs.

It's true that I don't have a high opinion of of the S3 in either form, but I have opened a new eye to the newest one. I mean no ill will, I would own one if I could afford it. I just can't afford a new one and I like rebuilding the old stuff.

Nah she was some tuffie chick that had a kid and had to grow up real fast so it hadn't been getting a lot of play so she was looking to get rid of it so her husband and her could pay off the mini van.
