Reasons why Honda's are hard to fix
« on: August 08, 2009, 09:40:27 PM »
"Ah Master Honda technician San, why did we make the carburetters on SOHC4 motorbikes so hard to work on when we had already invented the ejectable cartridge carburetter system"?
"Ah so minor technician, do you not remember"?
"No Master, and why did we not fit the early 60's and 70;s Honda's with the never change spark plugs we invented in the 1950's"?
Ah so minor technician, you still do not remember"!
"No Master, and why did we not fit the early Honda's with the titanium steering bearings we invented"?
"Ah so minor technician surely you remember"!
"No master, why did we do all these things when we could have fitted superior parts needing no maintenance and saving Honda owners around the world so much annoyance"?
Ah so, you still do not remember minor technician"!
"Remember WHAT Master remember WHAT"??????? >:(

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

I thought it was going to end with "I need to eat, too!"
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

I have often wondered myself if this could be true! How else can you explain Honda's arcane ordering system? I work in wholesale parts and Honda drive me mad on a daily basis. Their color codes for painted parts vary on each part even tho for the same model! I have a regular that only buys CBX parts and even if they are available Honda make me jump thru hoops to get them. If 24 parts are in stock and I order 1 line of 24 they ship 3 and back order the rest. However, if I order 8 lines of 3, I get all 24! At least that was the old system...now I have to complete a "Special Large Quantity Order form" and fax it in.  After waiting a month with no reply I went ahead and ordered 8 lines of 3  and had them 3 days later! Got to be a reason.

I think it has a lot to do with the language barrier.

We don't want to learn it, and they think we can't.  :D
