I live in Staffordshire, England.
I'm a proud owner of a 1976 400F. I have just bought a rolling chassis with a basket case engine so will be looking for some advice very soon.

My turn to Brag,
I live in Topeka, Kansas.  Topeka is the Capital of Kansas
Topeka is the home of:
70's-80's Rock band KANSAS
The First million-dollar high school,
Santa Fe Railroad
Hallmark Cards
World headquarters of Payless ShoeSource
Topeka's Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plant is the world's largest producer of earthmover tires
Washburn University, the only municipally-owned university in the country
Charles Sheldon author of In His Steps, theoretically the best-selling book in the world!
Smiling character Alfred E. Newman, long recognized as the logo character for Mad Magazine. The character was the logo for a Topeka dentist who professed his services "didn't hurt a bit!"
Brown V. Board of Education National Historic Site
Home of the sparrow
Charles Curtis, the only Native American to ever serve as vice president
Lake Shawnee, in southeast Topeka, is the location of the first and only fully staked 400-meter dash rowing course in the world
Pentecostalism started here in 1901
Gypsy Rose Lee gave her first performance in Topeka

Naw, Dorthy ain't from Here!

As to the Yank(ee)  question,  Most people never consider it. There does seem to be some leaning towards "all things southern". Southern heritage does seem strong among biker population here also.
Here's confusion...my brothers band is called The Southern Yankees,  (Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, etc).
But, my cousin from Australia calls ALL Americans ..Yanks. Hmmm.

Sorry mate, never heard of it! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Air-ticket? Ohh, Now I remember what I went out for while I was purchasing your case of Jack Daniels, I mean anesthesia. Ahh, the cost of medical coverage!

Actually the scars aren't too bad now, they add to my rugged good looks, but if you could do something about my eye not blinking or moving and my double vision, then we would talk ;) I guess it makes for a cheap drunk.
Cheers ;D

Toledo Ohio, Don't like the weather? Wait ten minutes.

I've got an old John denver tape somewhere, "John Denver in Concert" from memory, there's one track about some salesmen who get stuck in Toledo for a night, and I remember at the end he saluted Toledo with: "And here's to the dogs of Toledo, Ohio, Ladies we bid you goodnight!"

I often wonder if his airplane was serviced by a female mechanic from Toledo...........  ;D

Hey Graverobber, Love it!

Makes for some disappointing rides when the weathermen get it wrong

Hey, I'm a reformed Ohio guy.  I grew up in Lima.  No need to explain why I don't live there anymore............................ ::)

Ohiocaferacer--I met a guy from Columbus in Park City the year AHRMA moved there from Steamboat Springs.  He was running 350's.  Wasn't you, was it?

Funny you should bring that up.
Mr. Denver had his aircraft modified and moved his reserve fuel switch. He ran out of gas in his main tanks , and couldn't remember or couldn't get to his new reserve switch. :'(
My other hobby is working as a volunteer aircraft mechanic on a WWII B-25 Mitchell bomber.

I was out doing a preflight on a plane and heard this lumbering sound in the air....turned around and heres this big ole bird coming right at me.....my jaw dropped. Yep, their is no mistaking the sound of a radial engine. We (the museum) has a B-25, B-17 & C-47 that we take to the airshows. I always look at My CB750 and think "at least the engine sits the right way". I'm stripping the tank and side covers (don't faint, It has never been stock since I got it.). Going to repaint it silver and add the WWII stars and bars to the tank. It was that or paint it White with a black nose and put a red "meatball" on the side. ;D
