Les changed the face of music. Not just his guitar but THE electric guitar! So sad but yet he gave us so much.

Painfully slow to load, probably because everybody and their brother is trying to access it all at the same time.

The man left a huge legacy to the music industry and players around the world.

Mick

(in my best homer simpson voice) mmmmmmmmmmmm goldtop. i told my wife i was going to buy a GIBSON les paul goldtop as a "present" to myself for all the #$%* i've been through since i broke my neck, when i get my retroactive check from ssi. not the 7,000 dollar one but the standard will do just fine thank you. and of course, an ac-30 head and 2x12 cabinet to go along with. it turns out that the new neighbors (i REALLY need to pay more attention in my neighborhood, i didnt know i had neighbors next door again) he came out when he heard me fire up the compressor, and we got to talking, he's been playing the guitar for a while. we had a few beers and a glass of grappa and talked about all the great ones we'd lost in the past year. i had no idea that Lux Interior had died, the Cramps were one of my favourite bands fo so long. they still are, really.

Funnily enough I blew the dust off my acustic tonight and went through all the songs I have cords for, guess we are all thinking of a great man and paying homage to him in any way we can.

We are rmembering the electric but what he did goes WAY past that. Multi-track recording! Without, music would not be anything close to what it has been since he invented that.

Today I heard a rerun of a radio interview they did with him back in 1992. In addition to his musical and technical innovations, he sounded like a real down-to-earth guy.
