2009 Bonneville Pictures
« on: August 15, 2009, 09:06:32 PM »
Here's pictures from Bonneville 2009.  I was there on Sunday, August 9th.  My first trip there, and it was great.  Everyone we met was friendly as could be.

I'm including a picture of our rental Toyota Carolla's speedometer which we got up to 100 on the drive from Salt Lake City to Bonneville...purely in the spirit of Bonneville of course.

was that an AIRPLANE ENGINE in that e type jag?
Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

It was some two cylinder engine.  That car held the record in it's class. It's top speed was under 100 mph.  There's a writeup about it in the program, but my dad took the program home with him...and he lives in Cincinnati.  I'll get it back the next time I go to Cincy and give you the details.

Soos, it was awesome.  I had no idea how many cool old hot rods people brought out to the event.  It was a great surprise.

Regarding more pictures, It's going to take me some time, but I'll get them posted online and will put a link here.

Finally got my books.  It looks like an e-type jag, but it's actually a 1959 Deutsch-Bonnet (zoom in on the picture and you can see 'DB' on the nose). Lots of unique stuff out there.  Engine is a 743cc Panhard 2-cylinder.  Owner is Mark R. Brinker out of Houston TX.  Record as of last year was 93.994 mph. Car's name is 'BoneEvil'....one of my favorites that I saw.
