o-ring madness....
« on: September 23, 2009, 06:42:04 PM »
so I picked up my carb rebuild kits for my 75 cb400f tonight from the honda dealer and got home and don't know exactly which one is to go where. anyone that could chime in with prior cb400f carb experience would be greatly appreciated. In the pic below the new ones are obviously on the left and the old are on the right.

on the right #1 was removed from the needle jet housing
on the right #2 was removed from the bottom bowl screw
on the right #3 was removed from the main jet

do I have them in the right order?

so this means that there is not an o-ring for my idle mixture screw?

The dealer said that one was definitely for the idle mixture screw then that means that Im missing one...???....????

I also already tried putting the o-rings on the jets as the post above implies but it seems that the main jet and the bowl screw o-rings don't fit as well as the needle jet one does.

I'm more worried about not having or not needing o-rings for the idle mixture screws...there were definitely none in any ports when I was cleaning but then someone else had been in there before...

and the honda part number for the kit is:16010-333-315

Western Hills Honda might have a Micro Fische exploded diagram.  I used it when I rebuilt the carbs on my 750.  Good luck!

I have a honda manual and the exploded that they have show there is no o-ring for the idle mix screw

Go to any of the "Online" OE honda parts sources and look up the O rings on the parts fische for your bike. The part number will have the O ring dimensions after it. If you have a caliper, you can measure them. From your picture, It looks like you have matched them up.
