So what has your partner tried to make you give up?
« on: August 17, 2009, 09:18:01 PM »
Mine tried to cure me of loud rock music......failed. :)
Tried to get me to stop practicing my guitar....still can't play, still trying......failed. ;D
Warned me not to buy a motorbike........ah failed that one too. :D
Attempts' to stop me looking at pretty girls.......failed....I'm allowed to look, just not touch... ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Video games, smoking, spending money on bike parts, and sleeping in on the weekends.
So far she has failed on most of these.

Mid 90's grunge music. I wouldn't do it.

Smoking, though that was a team effort and we quit alright, for about three months.

I think the worst was I couldn't grow a beard. I resented her for that. Even more resentment was when she sold my motorcycle. :(

Needless to say we are not together anymore :D

No mature rated games in the house, so long fun games  :'(

Other than that my wife doesn't really try to get me to stop anything, or else she has figured out how to do it and make me think it was my idea  ;D

Mine got me to give up buying cheap parts:

She says... well why don't you just go buy the expensive gaskets, if that's what it's going to take, and the special studs too - because I don't want to hear about this stupid oil leak any more!

No more letting my 'frugal' side buy cheap crap which doesn't work (now to get rid of these crap bar ends...)

Made me give up buying bikes I know I shouldn't have bought in the first place.

I am specifically referring to my crashed 84 VF1000 Interceptor......great bike, wasn't compatible with my personality......

On the up side she helped me find my current ride on Kijiji....and then made it my birthday present

Ticket stubs are the only proof that you were actually there since you probably have no memory of the shows.  It is admissible in a court of law as an explanation as to your whereabouts on those nights/days.  Tell your girly that they might come up as needed evidence someday.  She'll back off.
