Hey all the gurus out there, here's my question for ya!
I have an '81 650 custom, and i found an oil cooler off an '83 650sc on ebay i'm bidding on, and i'm wondering if anyone has adapted that cooler to work with an '81 650 custom? Looks like there is just a plate that goes on the block where the oil filter housing screws onto, and then the oil filter housing goes onto that? I know i'd prob. have to get a bolt for an '83sc, but even if i had to machine one, no biggie. I have pretty good access to cnc machines to do it with, as i'm the guy who programs them! Lol, anyways, if you know if the bolt for an '83sc will thread into my '81 custom, that would help, otherwise it's off to make my own!
I plan on doing some distance riding on it, and thought it'd be nice to have the cooler on there just in case. It runs hot as it is, so just peace of mind.
